About the Role

We are seeking a skilled IT Communications Hardware Assistant to join our team at Wessex Water. As a key member of our IT Procurement team, you will play a vital role in supporting our communications hardware incidents and requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve mobile communication device incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process and fulfill service requests for mobile communication devices, ensuring seamless delivery and minimal disruption.
  • Liaise with internal IT teams and external stakeholders to resolve telemetry faults and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Recommend and implement standard mobile communication devices, aligning with our company's technology strategy.
  • Set up and configure mobile communication devices, ensuring they meet our security and compliance standards.
  • Maintain and update our CMDB, ensuring accurate asset information and efficient inventory management.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to resolve telemetry line requests and ensure timely delivery.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance mobile communication efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Plan and coordinate logistical activities for customer devices, ensuring smooth deployment and minimal disruption.
Requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent technical skills, particularly in Microsoft O365, with experience in troubleshooting iOS and Android systems.
  • Knowledge of IT service management best practices, such as ITILv3 or 4, and experience with CMDB, ticket management, and asset management.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and technologies.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
