POSITION SUMMARY

The Ice Rink Operations Leader plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations Manager to ensure the safe and effective management of the Ice Rink, a complimentary attraction at the heart of our festive experience. This position demands exceptional people management skills while prioritizing guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting memorable experiences for our guests. You will oversee event operations, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. With a strong focus on guest feedback, you will ensure that insights are gathered, communicated, and acted upon. As a motivational leader, you will inspire your team to uphold the highest standards of service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee a safe and exemplary operation in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of operational protocols, collaborating with headquarters for any necessary updates.
  • Possess a deep understanding of operational areas to effectively address challenges and resolve issues.
  • Ensure accurate daily reporting of operational performance metrics to headquarters and the broader operations team.
  • Champion the 'Accessibility and Inclusion' initiatives, ensuring all team members are trained and compliant with relevant processes.
  • Address guest feedback proactively, collaborating with the Guest Relations team to resolve recurring issues.
  • Conduct daily team briefings to relay essential safety, operational, and experiential information.

TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Collaborate with the Ice Rink Operations Manager and team members to maintain optimal staffing levels, addressing any shortfalls promptly.
  • Foster a professional and positive work environment within the Ice Rink Operations team, serving as a role model for all staff.
  • Manage team attendance effectively, addressing absences in line with company policies.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Ensure a secure environment for both staff and guests.
  • Assist in coordinating emergency procedures, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all individuals on-site.
  • Report any health and safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate channels, including hazards and maintenance needs.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate in training sessions as required by the organization.
  • Conduct training assessments and ensure all team members are adequately trained and documentation is complete.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new Ice Rink staff during the operational period.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • At least one year of managerial experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in coordinating teams within a guest-facing setting.

Desirable:

  • Experience in ice rink operations is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of performance metrics and customer feedback mechanisms.
