Financial Inclusion Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Inclusion Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Rent Collection Service, you will play a crucial role in helping us achieve positive outcomes for our tenants.
The successful candidate will be responsible for using data to gain insight, understand trends, and identify opportunities to design new projects that maximise the income of our tenants affected by the cost-of-living crisis.
Key Responsibilities- Universal Credit Migration Project: Identify tenants affected by managed migration, provide benefit advice to maximise their income, set up alternative payment arrangements, and send notifications via the GOV website.
- Low Income Family Tracker: Identify tenants potentially eligible for Pension Credit, contact them, and help them claim, assist with applications where necessary.
- Tenancy Training Project: Lead on inviting new tenants and running in-person workshops.
- Debt Management: Help tenants manage their debts and prioritise rent payments.
- Financial Hardship Support: Support tenants in financial hardship with emergency food vouchers and charitable applications for essential items.
- Debt Recovery Procedures: Be fully aware of debt recovery procedures in a Social Housing environment.
- Safeguarding and Data Protection: Be fully aware of the duties and responsibilities arising from Safeguarding, General Data Protection Act, Health and Safety, Information Technology, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with tenants by phone, email, letters, and in person, with a sensitive approach to identified vulnerabilities.
- Welfare Benefits Training: Organise and deliver welfare benefits training, drop-in advice surgeries, and workshops.
- Emotional Intelligence: Demonstrate emotional intelligence for adaptive service delivery, accounting for a tenant's individual circumstances.
