Manager of Biomethane and Gas Connection Initiatives

Position Overview
The Manager of Biomethane and Gas Connection Initiatives will engage with the biomethane sector and the evolving landscape of hydrogen integration, including the SGN H100 project and the anticipated transition towards a 20% hydrogen blend.
This role is perfect for individuals eager to enhance their expertise in the renewable energy field while gaining insights into the comprehensive gas industry, encompassing government regulations, project financing, and technical standards related to gas quality and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team to ensure the timely processing and delivery of biomethane and gas connection projects, while strictly adhering to safety regulations, legislation, and SGN policies.
- Support SGN in achieving government net-zero objectives and the company's goal of greening the gas within our networks.
- Oversee the project management and development of gas entry connections, primarily focused on the biomethane sector, from initial customer engagement to the final integration of gas into the grid.
- Coordinate with project operators post-commissioning to guarantee compliance with SGN's comprehensive policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in effective team management with a commitment to delivering projects within specified timelines.
- A proactive and adaptable work ethic, coupled with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- A solid understanding of gas network operations is essential, with a degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Familiarity with industry codes, regulations, and legislation is advantageous.
- Candidates should demonstrate a high level of computer proficiency and project management skills.
- A valid UK driving license is required due to the travel demands of this role.
