Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV2 driver to join our team at London Heathrow Airport's Cargo Terminals. As an Airside Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating vehicles and equipment airside in accordance with airport regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate Vehicles and Equipment: Ensure the safe operation of vehicles and equipment airside, adhering to airport regulations and guidelines.
  • Transport Cargo and Materials: Transport cargo and other materials between aircraft and designated areas, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Conduct Routine Vehicle Checks: Conduct regular vehicle checks and report any issues or defects to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Maintain Clear Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the team and supervisors, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment, adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • HGV2 / Cat C / Class 2 Licence: Possess a valid HGV2 / Cat C / Class 2 driving licence.
  • Airside Driving Experience: Have experience driving airside, with a strong understanding of airport regulations and guidelines.
  • HGV Qualification: Hold a valid HGV qualification, with newly qualified drivers welcome to apply.
  • PCV Drivers (Buses or Minibuses): Possess a valid PCV driving licence, with experience driving buses or minibuses.
  • Crane / Forklift / Straddle Carrier Operator Experience: Have experience operating cranes, forklifts, or straddle carriers, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Previous Airfreight Experience: Have previous experience in airfreight work, although not essential.
  • Good Level of Fitness: Possess a good level of physical fitness, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to Understand and Follow Instructions: Have the ability to understand and follow instructions, with strong communication skills.
  • Strong Sense of Ownership and Responsibility: Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Possess the ability to work under pressure, with a strong focus on delivering results in a timely manner.
