Position Overview
DEED Leisure and Culture is a prominent Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) dedicated to enhancing community engagement through leisure, sports, library, information, and cultural services.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Athletics Programme designed for school-aged children, hosted at the Regional Performance Centre.
We are in search of motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic casual coaches to facilitate engaging sessions for young participants. You will be contacted as opportunities arise.
It is important to note that DEED Leisure and Culture is not obligated to provide work, nor are you required to accept any offered work.
The hourly compensation for this role is £11.96.
Qualifications
- Must possess an Athletics Level 2 (UKA Athletics Coach qualification)
Key Responsibilities
As a Sports Coach, your primary role will involve instructing and coaching diverse groups of participants with varying skill levels.
You will be responsible for delivering a structured program, maintaining participant records, ensuring the safety of teaching equipment, and fostering a secure environment at all times.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have experience in Athletics coaching, particularly with children from diverse backgrounds. You should be skilled in planning structured activities, demonstrating exceptional organizational abilities, and collaborating effectively within a team.
Additionally, you should exhibit strong self-motivation, effective communication skills with children and young people, interpersonal skills, flexibility, adaptability, and leadership capabilities.
It is essential to demonstrate the ability to inspire others, work independently, maintain flexible hours including weekends, and commit to ongoing personal development.
This role involves Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults as per the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act.
Preferred candidates will need to enroll in the PVG Scheme or undergo a background check prior to receiving a formal employment offer from DEED Leisure and Culture.
