About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special school for secondary pupils with learning and additional needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of quality learning and teaching, working under the direction of a qualified teacher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of quality learning and teaching to pupils with special educational needs
  • Work with children and young people who have a range of significant and often complex SEND, including autism, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties
  • Undertake specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher
  • Encourage participation and independence in learning, and support pupils in developing their personal and social development
  • Provide emotional and physical support where necessary, and assist with daily living tasks such as eating, dressing, and hygiene
  • Provide basic first aid and liaise with senior leaders and medical staff as needed
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection
