Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Public Health Engineer to lead our Building Services team. As a key member of our national Public Health team, you will be responsible for mentoring, developing, and supporting a team of Public Health Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and Develop Team Members: Provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to a team of Public Health Engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Protect and Develop Quality of Designs: Ensure that all designs meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability, and provide technical and pastoral mentoring to the Public Health team.
  • Drive and Deliver Projects: Lead and deliver projects profitably and to the satisfaction of our clients, while ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Support Work Winning Activities: Develop and implement technical strategies to support business development activities, and demonstrate market-leading expertise in the field of Public Health engineering.
  • Contribute to Strategic Direction: Work as part of a small leadership team to contribute to the strategic direction and financial performance of the Building Services team.
  • Liaise with Other Teams: Liaise and interact with other UK Building Services teams to optimize technical direction and use of standard procedures and digital tools.
  • Support Global Public Health Colleagues: Support and develop Public Health colleagues across the globe, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Manage Technical Risk: Identify, assess, and manage technical risk on projects, and negotiate scope of services and prepare fee proposals.
Deliverables
  • Protect and Raise Profile of Ramboll's Building Services Offering: Protect and raise the profile and reputation of Ramboll's building services offering by upskilling our Public Health engineering functions and having a direct hand in our projects.
  • Develop and Promote Ramboll's Technical Capability: Help develop and promote Ramboll's technical capability in the local market, and maintain excellent levels of client service.
  • Expand Public Health Design Skills: Focus on expanding our team's Public Health design skills, systematically reducing risk and improving efficiency in our delivery of low and net zero carbon design solutions.
  • Support Business Plan: Support and contribute to our business plan, working within the ethos defined by our mission and values.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience with leading and coordinating all aspects of project delivery (PH bias).
  • Skills: Forward-thinking and enthusiastic about digital design innovation and 'smart design' in an increasingly digitalized construction arena, high degree of technical competence with demonstrable appreciation of sustainable/net zero carbon design, clear understanding of the application of Fire Protection systems and associated regulatory requirements.
