Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Assystem. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting operations and future programs at our client sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Author and manage design substantiation documents to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee design changes and concessions to ensure safety and operational requirements are met.
  • Present safety cases to committees to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop Engineering Inspection and Maintenance (EIMT) schedules and safety reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical advice and conduct independent reviews to ensure high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Apply engineering knowledge in high-risk environments to ensure safety and operational excellence.
  • Justify civil and structural design modifications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in design assessment for reinforced concrete and steelwork structures, including dynamic loads.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete and steelwork marine structures and jetties.
  • Proven ability to produce technical justifications for civil and structural design modifications in high-hazard industries.
  • Expertise in applying theoretical and practical methods to engineering processes in nuclear/high-risk environments.
  • Strong combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge to utilize emerging technologies.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar nuclear environment.
  • Familiarity with safety case development techniques, such as HAZID/HAZOP studies.
  • Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
  • Incorporated engineer (or equivalent experience).
  • Chartered engineer (or equivalent experience).
