Job Title: Senior/Principal Civil Engineer

Job Summary:

Assystem is a leading international company accelerating the energy transition worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to join our team in a Client's Approving Authority, supporting operations and future programs at client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Author and manage design substantiation documents for reinforced concrete and steelwork structures, including dynamic loads.
  • Oversee design changes and concessions, ensuring compliance with current best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Present safety cases to committees, justifying civil/structural design modifications.
  • Develop Engineering Inspection and Maintenance (EIMT) schedules and safety reviews.
  • Provide technical advice and conduct independent reviews, applying engineering knowledge in high-risk environments.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in design assessment for reinforced concrete and steelwork structures, including dynamic loads.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete and steelwork marine structures and jetties.
  • Proven ability to produce technical justifications for civil/structural design modifications in high-hazard industries.
  • Strong foundation in general and specialist engineering knowledge, utilizing both existing and emerging technologies.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar nuclear environment, such as Clyde.
  • Familiarity with safety case development techniques, such as HAZID/HAZOP studies.
