About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Assystem, a leading nuclear engineering company with over 55 years of experience. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in supporting current operations and future programs, particularly in nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Author, develop, assess, and manage Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
  2. Design Changes and Presentations: Manage design changes/concessions and present design substantiations to safety committees.
  3. Examination and Maintenance: Develop Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules and safety reports.
  4. Guidance and Reviews: Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders and conduct Independent Technical Reviews.
  5. Engineering Processes: Apply engineering knowledge to design, develop, and maintain engineering processes and systems.
  6. Civil/Structural Design: Justify civil/structural design modifications in a high hazard industry.
  7. Technical Reviews: Review technical reports and safety case submissions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Design Standards and Practices: Knowledge of current design standards and practices.
  • Theoretical and Practical Skills: Theoretical and practical skills in design stages.
  • Electrical Equipment Assessment: Experience in assessing electrical equipment.
  • Specification Skills: Specification skills for HV and LV networks.
  • Design Modifications: Ability to justify design modifications.
  • Industrial Machinery: Familiarity with industrial machinery.
  • Multi-Discipline Projects: Experience in multi-discipline projects.
Desirable Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • High-Risk Environments: Experience in high-risk environments.
  • Safety Case Development: Familiarity with safety case development.
  • Nuclear Industry Regulations: Knowledge of nuclear industry regulations.
  • Relevant Degree: Relevant degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer Status: Chartered Engineer status.
  • Safety Case Related Training: Safety case related training.
