Position Overview:
We are looking for an innovative, organized, and proactive individual to take on the role of Communications and Engagement Officer for LD4D. This initiative is a global network of stakeholders dedicated to enhancing livestock data and evidence, facilitating the transition towards more sustainable and inclusive livestock systems, particularly in developing regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing a comprehensive member engagement strategy.
- Create communication materials and multimedia outreach initiatives to share insights from significant events.
- Revise and enhance website content to foster member involvement.
- Oversee daily social media and website updates.
- Participate in knowledge exchange activities to highlight research efforts.
This position is situated within SEBI-Livestock, hosted by the Roslin Institute and the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. SEBI-Livestock provides a collaborative and dynamic work environment, offering opportunities for professional development and the chance to contribute to solving real-world issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong organizational abilities with a knack for managing projects, prioritizing tasks, setting deadlines, and delivering results in a global, multidisciplinary context.
- Exceptional communication skills, including proficient verbal and written English.
- Proven experience in a relevant position, demonstrating successful execution of communication and engagement initiatives.
- Experience in organizing effective in-person and/or virtual events, with technical skills in platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
- Capability in developing multimedia communication products (e.g., graphics, videos, factsheets) and proficiency in design and editing software.
The role is full-time (35 hours per week), but we are open to considering part-time or flexible working arrangements. Hybrid working options may also be available, allowing a blend of remote and on-campus work. Weekly in-person team meetings are expected. This position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis, with the possibility of extension.
