Wood PLC is looking for a Senior Architectural Engineer to contribute to a significant offshore windfarm initiative for a duration of 12 months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to: Structural Discipline Manager and Lead Architectural Engineer on Project.

Accountable for:


• Serving as Principal Architectural Engineer for ongoing projects.

Main objectives of the role:


• Delivering and supporting architectural design and engineering tasks for Wood Group Mustang projects.


• Acting as Principal Architectural Engineer.


• Ensuring compliance with Wood Company Procedures, architectural specifications, and relevant national/international standards.


• Designing architectural components of the project, including defining blast and firewalls and implementing passive fire protection measures.


• Producing discipline deliverables as outlined in the project Document Register and in line with the project timeline.


• Managing project architectural designers to ensure timely achievement of milestones and effective control of man-hour budgets.


• Developing preliminary room design layouts for integration into the Layout Group.


• Acting as project discipline Originator for architectural design and engineering deliverables (Layouts, Specifications, Schedules, MTOs, and design reports).


• Serving as discipline Approver / Checker for architectural design and engineering outputs.


• Coordinating with all relevant disciplines to prepare and develop deliverables, ensuring integration of inputs from other disciplines.


• Reviewing Client-provided data for architectural implications and requirements.


• Advising relevant disciplines on utility requirements for architectural-specified equipment.


• Ensuring adherence to architectural specifications, applicable code requirements, and national/international standards.


• Assisting the Lead Principal Architectural Engineer in preparing architectural enquiry requisitions and evaluating bids.


• Preparing architectural weight estimates for inclusion in the project weight report.


• Managing interfaces with Clients and external Third Parties, including Installation Contractors, Fabrication, and Verification Contractors. Coordinating meetings and addressing responses from these interactions.


• Reviewing Vendor data for suitability and project implications.


• Liaising and reporting to the Lead Architectural Engineer and Project Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• UK Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Architecture or a relevant engineering discipline.

• A proactive approach to the responsibilities of the role. Strong communication skills with colleagues and in guiding architectural designers. Willingness to be part of a collaborative Project Team, considering inputs from other disciplines.
