Wood PLC is in search of a Principal Architectural Engineer to contribute to a significant offshore windfarm initiative for a duration of 12 months.

Our diverse project portfolio includes new developments, enhancements of existing facilities, and optimization of systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to: Structural Discipline Manager and Lead Architectural Engineer on Project.

Accountable for:


• Serving as the Principal Architectural Engineer for ongoing projects.

Main objectives of the role:


• Delivering and supporting architectural design and engineering tasks for current Wood Group Mustang projects.


• Acting as the Principal Architectural Engineer.


• Ensuring compliance with Wood Company Procedures, architectural specifications, and relevant national/international standards.


• Designing architectural components of the project, including defining blast and firewalls and implementing passive fire protection measures.


• Producing discipline deliverables as outlined in the project Document Register and adhering to the project timeline.


• Managing the project architectural design team to ensure timely achievement of milestones and effective control of man-hour budgets.


• Developing preliminary room design layouts for integration into the Layout Group.


• Acting as the project discipline Originator for architectural design and engineering deliverables (Layouts, Specifications, Schedules, MTOs, and design reports).


• Serving as the discipline Approver / Checker for architectural design and engineering outputs.


• Coordinating with all relevant disciplines to prepare and develop deliverables, ensuring that inputs from other disciplines are considered.


• Reviewing Client-provided data for architectural implications and requirements.


• Advising relevant disciplines on utility requirements for architectural-specified equipment.


• Ensuring adherence to architectural specifications, applicable codes, and national/international standards.


• Assisting the Lead Principal Architectural Engineer in preparing architectural inquiry requisitions and evaluating bids.


• Preparing architectural weight estimates for inclusion in the project weight report.


• Managing interfaces with Clients and external Third Parties, such as Installation Contractors, Fabrication, and Verification Contractors, including coordinating meetings and addressing responses from these interactions.


• Reviewing Vendor data for suitability and project implications.


• Liaising and reporting to the Lead Architectural Engineer and Project Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a related engineering discipline from a UK institution or equivalent.

• A proactive approach to the responsibilities of the role, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration with peers and architectural designers. A willingness to work as part of a Project Team, considering inputs from other disciplines.
