We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Game Optimization Engineer to join our team at microTECH Global LTD.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days spent onsite and 2 days working remotely per week.
The salary for this position is up to £75 per hour.
As a Senior Game Optimization Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Optimizing Popular Games and Game Engines
Developing plugins, Android Framework APIs, and demos to facilitate game development and improve performance.
Providing support to game companies with insights into implementation and optimization.
Conducting research to improve the performance and quality of games.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills:
A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline (an equivalent period of industrial experience may be substituted).
Expertise in commercial game engine optimizations (Unity, Unreal, etc.).
Solid knowledge of modern C++.
Understanding of assembly and how C++ code maps to it.
Experience with Android development (Perfetto, ADB, Gradle, etc.).
Extensive performance and memory optimization experience, proficiency with profiling tools.
Solid understanding of SIMD, cache coherency, branch prediction, Data Oriented Design, multithreading.
Ability and desire to travel regularly to help game companies around the world.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with Java and C#.
Experience with game development is a significant advantage.
Knowledge of Arm 64-bit architecture.
Experience developing multiplayer games.
Familiarity with Graphics APIs.
