KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating across various properties, this role reports to the Regional Director for the designated area. The position serves as the operational leader and accountable manager for a cluster of facilities, collaborating closely with property teams to support strategic initiatives.

Accountable for effective management of personnel, operations, and budgets, ensuring adherence to the organization's strategies, policies, and operational guidelines. This includes maintaining consistent and professional management of the facilities to meet established standards.

This is a prominent management position where, in addition to overseeing general operations, the individual will be responsible for developing the operational business planning process in collaboration with property teams and the regional business manager. This involves utilizing key data sources and insights to create effective operational budgets and plans that support financial performance, visitor engagement, conservation efforts, and overall reputation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial oversight for the facility cluster, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of property financial positions in partnership with the business manager;
  • Formulating effective operational strategies;
  • Leading the delivery of exceptional customer service and visitor experiences;
  • Promoting a safe working environment, prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of visitors, staff, volunteers, and contractors, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations;
  • Developing a thorough understanding of conservation principles and their application in our work, along with a strong knowledge of the significance and character of each facility;
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Translating the organization's strategic objectives and values into actionable local plans.
