Overview

Morgan Hunt is collaborating with a prominent social housing organization seeking a Junior Building Surveyor to enhance their team.

In the role of Junior Building Surveyor, you will be instrumental in providing exceptional repair, maintenance, and property management services. You will collaborate closely with the Regional Property Services Manager, overseeing daily operations, significant repairs, property disrepair, vacant homes, and planned maintenance initiatives. Your technical knowledge and teamwork will be essential in fostering improvements and guaranteeing a superior service experience for our clients.

Key Duties:

  • Act as a visible, client-facing representative of the team, delivering expert technical guidance and managing cases comprehensively.
  • Ensure all tasks adhere to high-quality standards and deliver value, consistent with our organizational values and goals.
  • Supervise a variety of contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance indicators.
  • Establish trust and confidence with key stakeholders, including local authorities and suppliers.
  • Conduct preliminary inspections and building evaluations, prepare comprehensive reports, and offer technical insights on building issues and diagnostics.
  • Oversee the execution of major repair programs, property disrepair, and vacant home management.
  • Guarantee compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Work in partnership with Customer Operations and other departments to provide a seamless service and achieve key performance metrics.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours rota, which may require availability during evenings and weekends.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in building surveying and property maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Schedule of Rates and measurement methodologies.
  • Ability to operate independently with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and relevant legislation.
  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related technical qualification, or equivalent experience (HND/HNC). Candidates pursuing these qualifications will also be considered.
  • Possession of a full UK Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
