Reporting to the Chef Manager, your key responsibilities will encompass:

Acting as the Chef Manager's deputy, overseeing all aspects of food service within the establishment and ensuring a high-quality dining experience. Leading the team of catering assistants during your shift. Ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and health & safety standards. Striving to reduce waste during meal preparation and utilizing kitchen equipment appropriately.

Essential qualifications & experience:

Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certification from Cater craft or a comparable qualification. Knowledge of health & safety laws, including the management of hazardous substances (COSHH) and food safety protocols. Demonstrated experience in culinary and personnel management. Basic understanding of dietary needs specific to elderly individuals. Proficient in the safe operation of kitchen tools, including knives.

Required competencies:

Capable of negotiating, influencing, organizing time effectively, and prioritizing tasks. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prepare meals according to established menus. Adaptable, creative, and able to collaborate effectively within a team as well as work independently.
