Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Leonardo in Basildon. As a key member of our Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust manufacturing processes to ensure the smooth transition of new products from design to production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes that meet product requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production issues and constraints
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to internal and external customers on manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Plan and deliver work packages, including medium-term planning and scheduling
  • Contribute to the development of manufacturing capability and understanding of Industry 4.0/Smart factory principles
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with others using data and analysis
  • Experience of peer reviewing the work of others and ensuring actions are implemented
