Job Overview
The Cardiff Flying Start Groups Team is committed to delivering structured programs such as Language and Play, alongside informal drop-in sessions for families across various regions of the city. We also organize school holiday activities, including fun days and excursions.
In collaboration with the Area Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing effective support programs that cater to all families with children under a specified age. This role involves fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that addresses the needs of both adults and children utilizing our services. The candidate will create a safe environment for parents and children to engage in play and interaction, promoting well-being and enhancing positive parenting practices.

Candidate Requirements
A Level 3 qualification in Children's Care, Learning, Play, and Development is essential (please refer to the job description and personal specification for detailed qualification requirements). When applying, candidates should highlight how they meet the essential criteria outlined in the attached person specification.
The successful candidate will design and implement services that promote parent-child interaction, nurture child development, and provide a safe space for families to engage in play and interaction, thereby supporting well-being and enhancing positive parenting skills. The role may involve working with individuals facing challenges, trauma, and distress, necessitating a non-judgmental approach characterized by empathy and understanding.
Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of children's developmental needs and be able to communicate parenting information sensitively to parents.
The post holder will be required to respond appropriately to disclosures from service users regarding vulnerable children and/or adults, child protection, and domestic abuse, following established protocols and procedures.
A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role involves travel across various areas.
