About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Parenting Facilitator to join our team at Cardiff Parenting Services. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of services that promote parent-child interaction, nurture and support child development, and offer a safe place for parents and children to play and interact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-facilitate with a Senior Parent Group Facilitator to deliver engaging and effective parenting programmes in community venues across the city.
  • Contribute to the creation of a welcoming and inclusive environment that is sensitive to the needs of adults and children using our service.
  • Foster a safe place for parents and children to play and interact, to support wellbeing and enhance positive parenting skills.
  • Lead on creche provision where it supports families to access parenting group support.
  • Work with service users who are experiencing challenge and trauma, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of services that promote parent-child interaction, nurture and support child development.
Requirements
  • A Level qualification in Children's Care, Learning, Play and Development is essential.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the developmental needs of children and the ability to deliver information to parents about their child's development or parenting approaches in a sensitive manner.
  • A non-judgemental approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding when working with service users who are experiencing challenge and trauma.
  • A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role requires travel across all areas of the city.
