Service Support Worker - Regulated Service - Home Care

Location: Community Work, with travel around Dundee

Hours: Flexible, full-time or part-time per week

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: Competitive, annually, pro-rata for roles under hours

Driving Requirement: A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory. This is a Regulated Service.

A Day in the Life of a Support Worker:
  • Providing essential practical and emotional support to individuals in their own residences.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and medication management.
  • Supporting individuals with household responsibilities, meal preparation, and shopping.
  • Encouraging and promoting independence, enabling individuals to maintain their hobbies and interests.
  • Building positive relationships with service users, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensuring all care documentation is accurate and up to date.

To be a successful Support Worker you'll need:

  • Previous experience in a similar care role, preferably within a healthcare or social care setting.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals' lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of person-centred care principles and a commitment to upholding dignity and autonomy.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory.
