About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Information and Support Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in supporting the tracking, identification, and monitoring of children and young people who are at risk of not receiving the appropriate level of education.

You will work across the service, department, and with partners to ensure the educational needs of children and their families are clarified, and responses are coordinated. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving requests for service following triage by the Inclusion Pathway Manager, processing following pathways and service guidance, and contacting referrers, families, etc. as required.
  • Providing telephone advice and support to families, including directing them to self-help resources, following scripts and guidance, and identifying where needs are greater than can be met by advice only.
  • Providing information about other services that may be available for self-referral or open access.
  • Providing telephone support and guidance on basic behavior strategies.
  • Contacting families to enable the tracking and educational route for children and young people.
  • Contributing to a duty rota for the Inclusion and Career Advice helpline, taking telephone messages and updates for Managers and caseworkers, and offering basic advice.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of awareness of the range of services on offer to children, young people, and their families, both within the localities and on a county-wide or national basis. You will work collaboratively with other coordinators in the team to assist in managing demand at peak times in response to the needs of the service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or demonstrable multi-agency experience evidenced against the headings below.
  • Experience of working in children or family services within a health, social care, or education context.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency environment, collaborating and partnering with colleagues from a range of agencies and services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work alongside colleagues from different agencies and services, using a focus on improving outcomes for children and young people to work through any differences or conflicts between individuals or agencies.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.

You must also have an understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments and consider flexible working options wherever possible.
