Main DutiesYou will lead the ongoing maintenance of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system as the system administrator. You will be responsible for routine updates, installation of updated software, and testing required for any current version of the system.
You will provide expert support in the technical aspects of the development, implementation, and upgrading of the Trust-wide EPMA system, using your significant experience as a pharmacy technician with extensive experience of EPMA as a system user and administrator in order to lead and manage the daily operation and maintenance of the system.
The role will include the maintenance of other digital systems within pharmacy and participation in the implementation of new pharmacy digital systems. You will support staff training in the use of EPMA and other digital systems across the Trust.
Working for Our OrganisationThe Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers and approximately 500 beds on a single site.

Person SpecificationEssential criteria include a BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and Accredited Checking Technician for final checking of dispensed medicines. Desirable criteria include an IT qualification, Train the Trainer or equivalent qualification, and Project management qualification.
Experience is also essential, with significant experience in a hospital pharmacy environment, significant experience of using and developing EPMA, and experience of pharmacy stock control systems. Desirable experience includes project implementation and/or change management processes and the ability to develop and participate in audit.
Skills, Abilities, and KnowledgeEssential criteria include an excellent working knowledge of SQL reporting, the ability to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to produce high-quality documents, and confident talking to groups of up to 20 people. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are also essential, as is the ability to record information accurately.
Able to travel to other EPMA sites and meet requirements for out of hours working, the ability to resolve conflict between parties and negotiate to a solution, and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands on time from a variety of sources and manage time accordingly are also essential.
