Crone Corkill is currently collaborating with a client seeking an individual who can deliver IT expertise both in their offices and aboard their vessels. As such, prior experience in the Maritime industry or on vessels is crucial. If you possess this experience and are enthusiastic about joining a dynamic team, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

What will your responsibilities be as a Maritime IT Specialist?

  • Collaborating closely with the Head of IT and IT Manager, escalating issues as necessary
  • Operating within a Microsoft 365 environment and executing administrative tasks across various applications
  • Providing user support both deskside and remotely, via phone and virtual channels
  • Installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Virtual Machines (Hyper-V)
  • Supporting mobile devices and tablets, primarily Android, with some Apple devices
  • Managing storage devices and backup software for data and virtual machine backups
  • Troubleshooting hardware-related issues
  • Monitoring system performance
  • Supporting software applications and systems both in the office and on vessels (on-site and cloud-based)
  • Managing UPS devices
  • Overseeing vendor relationships

What qualifications are needed to be a Maritime IT Specialist?

  • Experience in IT roles aboard vessels or within the Maritime sector (essential)
  • Relevant academic degree (Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.)
  • Proficiency in M365 applications
  • Familiarity with Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11
  • Experience with physical devices and virtual machines
  • Understanding of NAS storage devices and backup solutions for data and VM backups
  • Ability to support both Android and Apple devices
  • Expertise in hardware support
