About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our dynamic team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain high clinical standards in the management of obstetric patients
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in managing acute obstetrics and maternal services
  • Participate in on-call activities and provide a consultant-led service of the highest standard
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of good working practices in the management of obstetrics patients
  • Participate in national initiatives to reduce perinatal mortality rates
  • Ensure effective clinical leadership for all staff in the service
  • Participate in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programs
  • Contribute to the Trust's translational research/audit portfolio

Person Specification
  • Education and Qualifications
    • MBBS (or equivalent)
    • MRCOG or equivalent
    • CCT and/or inclusion on the Specialist Register of GMC
    • Full GMC Registration
    • Advanced Labour Ward Practice ATSM or equivalence
    • ATSM Acute Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy equivalence
  • Experience and Knowledge
    • Experience of Maternal Medicine at secondary provider level
    • Recent active involvement in practical intrapartum obstetrics
    • Broad experience in obstetrics and Gynaecology
    • Able to perform laparoscopic treatment for ectopic pregnancy
  • Academic Achievements
    • Able to demonstrate successful participation in audit
    • Evidence of Attendance and presentation at national or international Obstetric and gynae meetings
