About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the clinical medicines management of patients with mental health challenges, working closely with inpatient multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Support the education and training of medicines matters for CPFT staff and service users, promoting evidence-based practice and adherence to local and national guidelines.
  • Participate in medicines management schemes on the wards, including patients' own drugs, self-administration, medicines reconciliation, and medicines supply.
  • Provide bespoke patient-centred pharmacy care to anyone requiring it from anywhere in the service, actively involving in discharge planning to ensure a seamless medicines pathway into primary care.
  • Support prescribing in line with evidence-based practice, following local and national guidelines, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree from a recognised university
  • Registered practicing pharmacist with the GPhC
  • At least 2 years' post-registration employment as a pharmacist
  • Experience of working in hospital pharmacy and mental health pharmacy, with a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or psychiatric therapeutics desirable
