Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist Specialist

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Advanced Pharmacist Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Pharmacist Specialist to participate in the safe dispensing and supply of medicines to in-patients and outpatients. The successful candidate will be actively involved in discharge planning and the provision of discharge medicines, and will be jointly responsible for the safety and security of pharmaceuticals, including controlled drugs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in clinical audits within clinical areas to ensure prescribing represents best value for money.
  2. Deliver and develop evidence-based guidelines and policies in liaison with Lead Clinical Pharmacists and Clinicians.
  3. Act as an Independent prescriber when required and appropriate, and provide evidence-based information on medicines for Pharmacy QIPP and Drug and Therapeutics Committee.
  4. Register as a pre-registration tutor and participate actively in the teaching and training of pre-registration and junior rotational pharmacists, pre-registration graduates, and students undertaking NVQ courses.
  5. Provide operational support to the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist Training and Education for the implementation and delivery of a training programme for clinical pharmacists.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy and experience in a similar role. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
