About the Role

The Subscriptions Growth Lead plays a critical role within the Proposition & Planning team in developing and implementing strategies to accelerate volume, revenue and EBITDA growth of our multi-channel subscription programmes across our portfolio of Food & Knowledge brands.

As a strategic, commercial thinker with a deep understanding of customer, data, product & proposition, and innovative marketing techniques, you will play a key role in driving forward the next stage of our subscriptions growth plans in close collaboration with stakeholders around the business, as we embark on our transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Commercial Strategies: Develop comprehensive commercial & strategic multi-channel subscriptions growth plans across digital and print that are customer-centric and aligned with the business goals and objectives across Food & Knowledge categories.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Be the key point of contact with Brand teams, Subscriptions & Marketing teams, Product & Technology, Content and other Commercial stakeholders around the business to ensure alignment on subscription growth goals and execution plans.
  • Define Financial Forecasts: Define and develop multi-year subscriptions P&Ls and financial forecasts together with stakeholders that deliver on the company and brand strategic growth plans and ensure strong customer lifetime value, and provide regular strategic/trading updates across the business.
  • Drive Innovation: Collaborate with Product & Technology, Brand and Commercial teams to:
    • Identify, develop and incubate to launch new digital subscription products.
    • Enhance existing subscription value propositions with new features and benefits.
    • Build in additional revenue streams where possible (e.g. Bundling; Premium tiering; Premium Sponsorship/Ads).
  • Share Best Practices: Define and share best practices, playbooks and trends on regular basis based on wider audience and market mapping to ensure insights are applied across the business and a culture of test & learn is in place.
  • Monitor Progress: Work closely with Customer Data & Marketing, CRO/CRM, Analytics/Insights teams and other stakeholders to shape OKRs, supporting KPIs and business reporting to monitor success and ensure progress against subscriptions growth objectives.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Build out roadmap and OKRs for strategic partnerships in close collaboration with IM partnerships teams to deliver on agreed subscriptions growth/revenue targets for these channels (as applicable).
  • Maximise Customer Acquisition: Collaborate with Data and Pricing, Acquisition and CRO/CRM teams to maximise customer acquisition & retention strategies and optimise customer pricing / LTVs to deliver on overall subscriptions growth plans.
  • Foster a Culture of Excellence: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence across the team.

  • Proven experience in a successful multi-channel subscriptions environment, across digital web, app and print.
  • Experienced in working with cross-functional stakeholders across a business, fostering a collaborative and positive culture.
