Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect for Financial Services at AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is on the lookout for a seasoned and driven technologist who possesses a rare blend of industry insight, technical expertise, and exceptional interpersonal abilities for the role of Senior Solutions Architect for Financial Services.

In this role, you will work closely with prominent financial services organizations, AWS Sales, and various AWS teams to architect scalable, adaptable, and robust cloud solutions that tackle industry challenges and enhance the adoption of AWS services.

The ideal candidate should have a background as a solutions architect within a financial services firm, industry solution providers, or systems integrators, showcasing proficiency in industry solutions and familiarity with software development practices, including cloud DevOps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the technical components of the strategic initiative to advance AWS adoption in the financial services sector.
  • Establish technical credibility during sales engagements with financial services clients and partners.
  • Educate clients on the advantages of AWS within the financial services domain and engage in architectural discussions for effective cloud deployment.
  • Share best practices with the AWS solutions architect community.
  • Cultivate relationships with technical leaders in client organizations to promote cloud technology.
  • Act as a technical intermediary between clients, service engineering teams, and support.
  • Design solutions utilizing AWS technology, including proof-of-concept and prototype development.
  • Be prepared for potential travel requirements of up to 25%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in financial services organizations and implementing solutions in regulated settings.
  • Architectural experience in designing and executing large-scale solutions in the financial services sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of virtualization and cloud computing technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation.
  • Experience with presentations and whiteboarding for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Hands-on experience in architecting, migrating, or modernizing solutions to the cloud.
  • Expertise in AWS or other cloud service providers and delivery models.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services-related applications and big data architectures.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and collaborate with virtual teams.
  • AWS certifications.
