Company Overview: A prominent provider in the infrastructure sector, focusing on civil engineering, utilities, and construction services, is on the lookout for a Lead Cost Consultant to enhance their team.

Role Overview: This position entails engagement with significant projects throughout the UK, particularly in the utilities and infrastructure domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fostering and nurturing client relationships.
  • Ensuring precise monthly project forecasting and commercial reporting.
  • Safeguarding the archiving and backup of all pertinent commercial data in accordance with industry standards.
  • Overseeing monthly commercial and health check reporting, with a focus on accurate month-end Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reporting.
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities while maintaining cash flow.
  • Providing mentorship to team members and ensuring ethical conduct in all commercial activities.

Project Focus: The role will primarily focus on Environmental and Renewable projects within the Utilities sector across the UK, offering a diverse portfolio valued at approximately £10 million.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in the utilities and construction sectors.
  • Proficient understanding of contract law and commercial practices.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement documentation.
  • Exceptional commercial management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong IT capabilities and commercial acumen.
  • Experience in risk management and monitoring.
  • A solid background in utilities is preferred, though candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to travel across the UK are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects effectively.
