About the Role

Milestone Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Agent to join our Projects sector in Oxfordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading site activities and ensuring the successful delivery of major projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Leadership: Lead and manage a team of site personnel, including Milestone supervision and subcontractors, to achieve project objectives.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor site activities against project schedules, identifying and reporting any exceptions or delays.
  • Site Planning and Supervision: Plan and supervise site activities to maximize productivity and efficiency, ensuring all works are completed to the required standard.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including photographs, daily diaries, and as-built drawings.
  • Communication: Conduct daily site briefings and supervise subcontractor task briefings, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned with project objectives.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure all works activities meet the required standards, adhering to the principles of Injury-Free Environment (IFE) and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Client Management: Attend client meetings to provide project updates and manage any adverse issues that may arise.
  • Contract Management: Write and maintain contract programs, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
  • Commercial Management: Assist in the tendering of works, evaluating and selecting subcontract packages, and ensuring commercial acumen to facilitate cost control.
  • Safety and Environmental Compliance: Take ownership of safety and environmental compliance for the depot, ensuring all identified actions are closed out within their timescale.
Requirements
  • Experience: A good level of experience in civil engineering and workforce supervision, including earthworks, drainage, structures, and highways.
  • Commercial Acumen: A good level of commercial acumen to facilitate cost control.
  • Leadership and Influencing Skills: Effective team management, leadership, and influencing skills to get the best from everyone.
  • Customer Skills: Excellent customer skills and the ability to demonstrate influencing in all situations.
  • Relationship Building: The ability to drive excellent relationships with contacts at all levels, including clients and colleagues.
  • Adaptability: The ability to remain flexible in your approach to the role while embracing change and helping to drive that change through.
  • Contract Knowledge: Experience of working on NEC3 contracts, including the mechanisms for notifications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision making.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to juggle priorities, while multi-tasking for many stakeholders, and still remaining focused on what's most important.
