Lead Cost Consultant – Infrastructure Projects

Location: Oxford

Role Overview:

In the position of Lead Cost Consultant, you will oversee the financial management of significant infrastructure projects or several smaller initiatives, working closely with your supervisor.

Key Duties:

  • Promote a secure working environment
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and schedules with subcontractors
  • Administer subcontract work packages and manage changes
  • Generate and distribute commercial notifications to clients and subcontractors
  • Supervise changes in alignment with contractual agreements
  • Prepare monthly financial submissions to clients
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering teams
  • Compile monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR)
  • Maintain an updated 'Cost Plan'
  • Analyze expenditure reports
  • Facilitate progress and risk mitigation meetings
  • Support estimating and bidding teams with contractual insights

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard contract forms
  • Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Cost Management Systems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies
  • Exceptional time management and outcome delivery skills

Educational Background:

  • Professional qualifications such as MCIOB or MRICS
  • Relevant degree or substantial commercial experience
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects
  • CSCS certification
