About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Attendance and Exclusions Officer to join our School Attendance, Exclusions & Community Education Team. The successful candidate will have a passion for improving school attendance and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children, families, and schools.

The role will involve working closely with schools, social workers, and other stakeholders to identify and address attendance issues, as well as developing and implementing strategies to improve attendance and reduce exclusions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with schools and social workers to identify and address attendance issues
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce exclusions
  • Provide training and support to schools on attendance and exclusion procedures
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement policies and procedures related to attendance and exclusion
  • Conduct home visits and meetings with parents and carers to discuss attendance issues
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
  • Experience of working with children, families, and schools
