Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Specialist Transformation Team as a Project Support Officer. This is a key role working with the transformation team and wider services across the organisation to provide effective and efficient project support.

The Project Support Officer will provide crucial support to the Transformation Programme Manager and Programme Manager by coordinating and managing the systems and processes that enable the delivery of the Trust's strategic plan and transformation delivery programmes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide project management support for programmes, including business case development, planning activities, risk and issues management, monitoring and coordination of tasks, and negotiation and conflict management.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance standards, reporting, and the deployment of standard methodologies.
  • Be a single point of contact for all transformation projects and have an archive of information to allow real-time reporting and information sharing.
  • Be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective programme management systems that enable good risk management, performance reporting, sharing of best practice, mapping and monitoring interdependencies, and escalation of issues.
  • Be the line manager for an admin assistant (where relevant), including the full range of line management responsibilities.
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential Criteria
  • Experience of arranging, attending, and servicing key meetings, including taking formal minutes.
  • Experience of managing small projects and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of identifying and collecting key information and analysing data from a variety of sources to create senior management reports.
Education/QualificationsEssential Criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of a range of work procedures and practices that require a level of expertise, including project management.
  • Evidence of willingness to undertake further personal development.
Desirable Criteria
  • Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP).
KnowledgeEssential Criteria
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office packages.
Skills and AbilitiesEssential Criteria
  • Experience of Excel spreadsheets for manipulating data.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work autonomously and without direct supervision, within defined procedures and parameters.
  • Excellent diary and highly developed time management skills with the ability to re-prioritise and adjust work as required.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage complex shared programme and project data, using established version control principles.
  • Able to build effective networks with a broad range of stakeholders (internal and external).
