Burlington Primary Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practice Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting our GPs and clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clinical support to GPs and clinicians, ensuring the smooth running of clinics and enabling them to focus on patient care.
- Take initial patient histories, perform basic observations, and assist with clinical procedures under the guidance of our clinicians.
- Sort and prioritize clinical post, extracting relevant information and coding data as required.
- Arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments for patients, ensuring timely and effective communication with other healthcare professionals.
- Prepare patients for GP consultations, taking brief histories and basic readings as necessary.
- Conduct basic clinical procedures, including dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy.
- Complete basic forms and core elements of more complex forms for GP approval and signature.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a GP practice or primary care setting.
- Ability to support our value of 'Our Patients, Our Team'.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic IT skills.
