Work Hours Update: NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, while maintaining current salary levels. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to Consultant Ophthalmologists and other medical staff.
  • Assist in managing the Consultant's workload effectively.
  • Communicate appointment details to patients and their caregivers.
  • Serve as the Team Lead for the Directorate Assistant, addressing all matters related to the Ophthalmology Secretarial Team.

This position requires the successful candidate to hold a PVG Scheme membership/record. If you are not currently a PVG member for the necessary regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult), you will need to apply to Disclosure Scotland and obtain satisfactory clearance before commencing the role.
