Kings Hill, Kent, United Kingdom Kent County Council Full time
Role Overview

Kent County Council's Strengthening Independence Service is renowned for its exceptional support provided by its Social Workers, whose dedication and commitment shine through their work.

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Social Worker in the West Kent Disabled Children's Team 2. Our team consists of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants, and you will work closely with our colleagues in Disabled Young People's Social Work Teams and other key agencies, such as Health, Education, and the voluntary sector.

You will be working with disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 17, supporting them to progress towards independence. The role within our team will enable you to gain further experience in a wide range of work, including supporting Children in Need, Court applications, Children in Care, and Child Protection.

You will be highly motivated and demonstrate excellent social work knowledge, skills, and values to deliver the highest quality service to disabled young people, their families, and carers.

We offer a hybrid working model with a combination of home and office working. The contractual base is in Worrall House, Kings Hill, West Malling.

The team covers a large geographical area, and there would be an expectation that you are able to work flexibly across the whole area covered by the team.

We offer generous market premium payments (subject to eligibility), generous annual leave allowance, and the local government pension scheme.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
