Job Title: Data and Evaluation Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Data and Evaluation team at Sheffield Hallam University, who will provide specialist advice and support for our widening participation activities and programmes.

As a leading university in the field of higher education, we work with local schools and colleges to reduce the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the evaluation of outreach programmes, providing expert advice and support to ensure high-quality delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective data management systems, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver complex administration activities, including events, projects, and training, to support our strategic objectives.
  • Provide specialist advice on data protection regulations and external funding requirements, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Analyse quantitative data using data software (e.g. Excel, SPSS) and qualitative data from focus groups, to inform programme development and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in outreach programme evaluation and data management, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex regulatory environment, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
