Service Care Recruit is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Worker to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals and helping to prevent homelessness in our community.
The RoleAs a Housing Support Worker, you will be responsible for engaging with local authorities, statutory, and voluntary agencies to generate referrals. You will also plan and deliver effective support and safety plans, regularly reviewing and updating progress. Additionally, you will ensure properties are well-maintained, furnished, and clean, and issue correct tenure and support agreements, ensuring compliance.
You will empower service users to achieve their desired outcomes and actively involve them in decision-making. You will also develop early move-on plans, identifying realistic housing options, and support service users with domestic tasks, providing practical assistance where necessary.
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals. You will have a strong understanding of homelessness prevention and support services, as well as the ability to manage and maintain housing properties effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on service user empowerment.
The ContractThis is a 35-hour per week, 12-week temporary to permanent contract, with a focus on supporting vulnerable individuals and helping to prevent homelessness in our community.
