Position Overview

We are seeking a Compliance Officer (Commercial Gas and Renewables) to enhance our Asset team at Torus Group. This is a permanent position that involves ensuring the effective delivery of safety compliance services related to commercial gas and renewable energy across our extensive property portfolio.

As a Compliance Officer, you will be integral in collaborating with tenants, contractors, and internal staff to uphold the highest standards of service. Your key responsibilities will encompass:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Business Lead in executing commercial gas programs and managing remedial actions, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with Gas Regulations by ensuring that commercial gas service records are accurate and accessible.
  • Oversee the service and inspection protocols for alternative heating solutions, including Heat Interface Units (HIUs) and heat pumps, ensuring all remedial tasks are completed promptly.
  • Support future planning and budget management for the service areas under your purview.
  • Engage with customers to address concerns throughout the program lifecycle, facilitating access and appointments to minimize missed opportunities.
  • Contribute to additional contracts related to the maintenance of renewable energy sources, such as solar panel services.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s Compliance Management Plans and Operational Guidance, with a strong emphasis on Gas Safety.
  • Monitor and secure necessary certifications to validate that remedial actions are executed according to the management plan.
  • Ensure the proper organization and storage of all compliance documentation.
  • Assist in preparing contract documents and developing programs that align with statutory and organizational policies.
  • Support the procurement of contractors to enhance service delivery effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on best practices, legislation, and compliance obligations relevant to your areas of responsibility.
  • Promptly report any compliance issues to the Compliance Manager.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing required information within set timelines.
  • Provide coverage for fellow Compliance Officers to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Fulfill all duties necessary to ensure the compliance team meets statutory and regulatory obligations.
Qualifications:
  • Level 4 VRQ Diploma in Asset and Building Management.
  • Level 4 VRQ in Gas or Electrical Safety Management in Social Housing.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in managing programs or projects with a focus on performance enhancement.
  • Willingness to pursue a professional qualification in property compliance or a related field.
  • Experience in a social housing context, particularly in compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing maintenance projects within occupied residential settings and engaging with customers effectively.
