Position Overview

Procurement Specialist - Alcohol Sector

Location: North London

Salary: Up to £40,000

Work Environment: Office Based

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an Assistant or Junior Procurement Specialist to join a prominent national retailer in their North London office.

The successful candidate will be tasked with curating a commercially viable product assortment that aligns with both organizational and departmental objectives, while maintaining a strategic outlook to foster ongoing growth within the designated categories.

  • Establishing and nurturing robust partnerships with major FMCG suppliers.
  • Identifying suppliers and negotiating optimal pricing structures.
  • Evaluating sales data to forecast successful future product lines.
  • Monitoring own brand inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability and mitigate risks.
  • Compiling and presenting reports, data, and trend analyses to the Senior Management team.
  • Addressing and resolving issues or inquiries related to damaged or expired products.
  • Conducting market analysis and monitoring competitor activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in a dynamic FMCG environment is essential (experience in BWS is advantageous).
  • A relevant degree is required.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and evolving FMCG landscape.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Solid understanding of budget management and the ability to juggle competing projects.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
