Role Overview

In this position, you will be instrumental in facilitating contract oversight by ensuring precise budget management and processing for contractor-related tasks, including repairs and voids.

Your commercial insight will be essential in the formulation and negotiation of agreements with contractors, suppliers, internal departments, and consultants.

You will also establish performance and monitoring frameworks for budget forecasting, variance analysis, volume performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular assessments and reports on economic efficiency.

Building and nurturing effective relationships with providers, partners, and stakeholders is crucial in this role. You will assist in the preparation of the Housing Asset Management Strategy, investment alternatives, cost modeling, and work schedules.

Additionally, your project management skills will be utilized to oversee assigned projects or programs, ensuring that objectives are met on schedule, within budget, and to the required standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience, with chartered status and full membership of RICS, RIBA, CIOB, or CIBSE being highly advantageous.

You should have extensive experience in crafting effective contract specifications and procurement documents, alongside a comprehensive understanding of procurement legislation, social housing maintenance, and refurbishment contracts.

Strong budget management experience is a must, as is proven experience collaborating with contractors and consultants in a service delivery context.

A solid grasp of the financial and technical dimensions of contracts, contract procurement, and accounting is essential. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary to foster and maintain productive business relationships.

You will be a collaborative team member, as well as a dynamic and committed individual with the resilience and determination to manage the demands and pressures of the role, including the ability to handle crises effectively.
