About the Role

As a Prisoner Custody Officer with Serco, you will play a vital role in providing safe and secure escorting and custody services to detainees at Aylesbury Crown Court. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of those in your care, accompanying defendants in court rooms and cells, searching property or people, and completing paperwork and data entry for the day.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a current valid driver's license, be reasonably fit, and have good written and verbal communication skills. Our ideal candidate will have a particular interest in criminology or psychology, and be committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Our Assessment Process

Our assessment process includes an online assessment, a briefing call to assess eligibility, a competency-based virtual interview, and a short role-play and written exercise. All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and all offers of employment are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks with Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references.
