Job Summary:
The Fleet and Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, direction, management, coordination, and supervision of the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of bus/fleet vehicles. This role serves as the primary contact concerning the bus fleet and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Route Planning and Optimization: Develop and implement efficient routes to minimize travel time and maximize productivity.
- Fuel Management: Establish and manage fuel cards for drivers or vehicles, ensuring cost-effective fuel consumption.
- Driver Safety Programs: Implement and monitor driver safety protocols, including licensing, training, and vehicle operation.
- Service Delivery: Ensure that fixed-route bus services maintain the highest standards of safety, student satisfaction, student needs, efficiency, and overall excellence in service delivery.
- Group Travel Coordination: Coordinate group travel with drivers, assign trips to drivers, and ensure effective communication.
- Driver Recruitment and Scheduling: Schedule, recruit, and maintain an appropriate number of drivers for university vehicles, including random drug testing.
- Financial Management: Process driver payroll forms, travel documents, and other related financial documents.
- Transportation Coordination: Coordinate transportation to and from area airports, including the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 2 years of experience or relevant experience
- Certifications: Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a 24+ passenger endorsement
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous or current public transportation experience or experience with large passenger vehicles
