About the Role

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pest Control Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Pest Control Service, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of service delivery, including the supervision and management of staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and support the work of operational staff through the provision of guidance and advice on technical and enforcement issues.
  • Coordinate and discharge daily operational duties, including monitoring and allocation of appointments as necessary.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the Pest Control Service and business support teams.
  • Collate, communicate, and progress operational and administrative procedures.
  • Plan, document, and implement a rolling plan of proactive work for the service, including the expansion of commercial contracts.
  • Assist in carrying out a full program of pest control work and provide relief for absent staff members.
  • Develop and maintain departmental records, including risk assessments and equipment maintenance schedules.

About You

We are looking for a highly organized, adaptable, and calm individual who can thrive in a demanding frontline service. You will need:

  • Previous experience as a Pest Control Supervisor or Operative.
  • Proven commercial pest control experience, including contract management.
  • Appropriate and recognized Pest Control Qualification.
  • A good knowledge of pest control related legislation and relevant guidance and codes of practice.
  • The ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers and handle challenging situations diplomatically.
  • The ability to allocate tasks, prioritize work, and ensure completion within agreed targets.
