Job Title: Construction Environmental Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic Environmental and Sustainability Team for a Global Infrastructure Business.

About the Role

This is a home-based position with occasional site visits, and travel and subsistence are included in the package.

You will be responsible for the Environmental control and monitoring of a major Substation and power infrastructure upgrade programme, reporting to the Environmental Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as the Environmental Advisor on the project, supported by the Environmental Manager.
  2. Represent Environmental issues in collaborative meetings.
  3. Assist with production and review of methods statements and risk assessments.
  4. Collate subcontractor information from site to support monthly sustainability reporting.
  5. Conduct Environmental inspections and audits.
  6. Provide environmental advice on legal compliance and construction to the survey team.
  7. Monitor contractors to ensure effective delivery of obligations.
  8. Coordinate and liaise with the Design Joint Venture to ensure timely exchange of environmental assessments and specialist resources.
  9. Review and input into project work package plans and task briefs as required.
  10. Attend consultations with local authorities, local enquiries, and other statutory bodies as needed.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience as an Environmental Consultant/Advisor.
  2. Knowledge of construction methods and environmental impact associated with major construction projects.
  3. Awareness of current and future environmental legislation, with a working knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Qualified Environmental specialist or related discipline.
  2. Valid CSCS card for site visits.
