Environmental Consultant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic Environmental and Sustainability Team for a Global Infrastructure Business.

The position is home-based with trips to site when required. Travel and subsistence are part of the package.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the Environmental Advisor on the project with the full support of the Environmental Manager.
  2. Represent Environmental issues in collaborative meetings.
  3. Assist with production and review of methods statements and risk assessments.
  4. Collate subcontractor information from site to assist with monthly sustainability reporting.
  5. Undertake Environmental inspections and audits.
  6. Provide environmental advice on legal compliance and construction to the survey team.
  7. Monitor contractors to ensure effective delivery of obligations.
  8. Coordinate and liaise with the Design Joint Venture to ensure timely exchange of environmental assessments and specialist resources.
  9. Review and input into project work package plans and task briefs as required.
  10. Attend consultations with local authorities, local enquiries, and other statutory bodies as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience as an Environmental Consultant or Advisor.
  2. Knowledge of construction methods and environmental impact associated with major construction projects.
  3. Awareness of current and future environmental legislation, and working knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation.
Desirable:
  1. Qualified Environmental specialist or related discipline.
  2. Valid CSCS card to visit sites.
