Environmental Consultant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic Environmental and Sustainability Team for a Global Infrastructure Business.

This is a home-based role with occasional site visits, and travel and subsistence are included in the package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Environmental Advisor on the project, working closely with the Environmental Manager
  • Interface between the site and design teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Represent environmental issues in meetings and provide expert advice on environmental compliance and construction
  • Assist with the production and review of methods statements and risk assessments
  • Collate subcontractor information for monthly sustainability reporting
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Provide guidance on environmental legislation and health and safety regulations
  • Monitor contractors to ensure effective delivery of environmental obligations
  • Coordinate with the Design Joint Venture to ensure timely exchange of environmental assessments and specialist resources
  • Review and input into project work package plans and task briefs
  • Attend consultations with local authorities and other statutory bodies as required
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an Environmental Consultant or Advisor
  • Knowledge of construction methods and environmental impact associated with major projects
  • Previous site experience is desirable
  • Awareness of current and future environmental legislation and health and safety regulations is essential
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Qualified Environmental specialist or related discipline
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Valid CSCS card for site visits
