Job Title: Customer Service Representative
We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to contribute to our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in engineering or manufacturing who excel in communication and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Quotations Management
- Determine pricing based on established formulas and factory costs, while taking into account historical data and current policies.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure accurate lead-time estimates for customers.
- Engage in negotiations with clients regarding pricing, lead times, and special order specifications.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations and accurately report on any lost opportunities.
Order Management
- Access and manage purchase orders, amendments, and planning schedules through customer portals.
- Review and input purchase orders into the system, confirming drawing revisions, pricing, quantities, and quality standards.
- Utilize existing part numbers from the MRP system for orders and quotations.
Customer Engagement
- Work collaboratively with the team to effectively manage production workloads to meet customer needs.
- Provide engineering information and contract drawings to clients as required.
- Keep customer order status reports updated in coordination with the manufacturing team.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or inquiries from customers and internal teams regarding orders and quotations.
Business Development
- Assist in the growth of Aftermarket Service Support opportunities through customer visits and presentations for clients in the U.K. and Europe.
- Enhance the aftermarket product range by sourcing sub-vendors for non-core items.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Perform customer checks using Visual Compliance software and adhere to Know Your Customer procedures to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
General Responsibilities
- Draft written communications to customers as necessary.
- Keep management informed on live business issues related to inquiries and order activities.
- Present business conditions and customer concerns during departmental meetings.
- Participate in project teams and initiatives aimed at continuous process improvement.
- Support customer visits, training sessions, and other required tasks.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in customer interaction or sales within engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Familiarity with reciprocating compressors, bearings, pumps, valves, turbines, etc., is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Export Control and Incoterms is a plus.
- Proficient in creating and delivering sales presentations.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
Qualifications:
- A technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though a business-related degree with relevant industrial experience will also be considered.
Work Arrangement: Onsite
This position is based at our manufacturing facility.
